The September Sportsman's Auction will include firearms, ammunition, hunting supplies, and taxidermy items. Buyers will be picking up their purchases in Batavia, NY on Friday, October 1st by appointment between 10 am and 5:30 p.m. LIVE PREVIEW: WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 22, 5-7PM AT 8975 WORTENDYKE RD., BATAVIA, NY. MERCHANDISE PICK UP LOCATION/DATE: Batavia, NY on Friday, Oct. 1st, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. by appointment only at 8975 Wortendyke Road, Batavia, NY. PICKUP OF FIREARMS: All buyers of firearms must pass a federal background check before taking possession of their purchase. Background checks will take place during the regular pick up hours (Friday, Oct. 1st, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. by appointment). Pistol permit (handgun) and driver's license with current address (long guns and hand guns) will be required for the background check. SHIPPING: We do not automatically ship every lot. Bidders must contact the auction company to confirm that we will ship a specific item by clicking the “contact auctioneer” button located below the item description, calling our office at 585-343-4529 or emailing todd@bontragerauction.com to confirm that we will ship an item prior to bidding on it. We will not ship taxidermy pieces, due to the high potential for damage while in transit. We do not ship ammunition. Firearms can only be shipped to Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL). We will ship ammunition to a federal firearms dealer only. We charge for materials and packaging time, and we do not ship to PO Boxes. We are unable to overnight express packages. Buyer pays shipping, insurance, signature confirmation and handling fee. Please read our full shipping policy so there are no surprises. PAYMENT: At the close of the auction all payments will automatically be charged to the buyer's credit/debit card used at registration. We are not accepting payment during the pick up. Tax exempt customers should have tax exempt paperwork on file prior to the close of the auction. MERCHANDISE PICK UP PROCEDURE: -All buyers of firearms must pass a federal background check before taking possession of their purchase. -Bring your own copy (paper or electronic) of your receipt. It is the buyer’s responsibility to make sure all items are loaded and in expected condition. Once the item leaves the premises, there will be no exchanges, returns, chargebacks or refunds. -If you are unable to pick up on the scheduled date, kindly refrain from bidding in this auction. We are unable to accommodate multiple dates for pickup. There is a $20 charge, plus staff time, trucking fees, and storage for bringing items to our auction center from the auction location. Items not picked up on the scheduled date will be resold to cover our fees. Purchasers of firearms may not send someone else to pick up for them. -Customers will be assisted by appointment times for pickup. -Customers should come prepared to remove the items themselves and bring any assistance or tools they may need.
By bidding with our auction company, you are agreeing to the following: -ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Everything is sold "AS IS" with no guarantees unless otherwise stated by the auctioneer. It is the responsibility of the bidder to assure him or herself as to the condition of items prior to bidding. No chargebacks are allowed. -CONDITION REPORTS given by the staff of Bontrager’s Auction Service are subjective, and while we strive to be honest, we will not be held responsible or liable for any errors in description. Buyer is responsible for examining items or obtaining adequate information about the item before bidding. Auction company does not take responsibility for the buyer's failure to examine or obtain information. Merchandise is not subject to adjustments once the item has been sold. -LIABILITY: Bontrager Real Estate & Auction Service and its staff will not be held responsible or liable for any errors in absentee/left bids or phone bids, nor for the possible failure to execute any bids for any reason. -PAYMENT is due in full within the time limits posted in the auction. For online auctions, all payments will be made through the credit/debit card provided at registration. We accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover. 13% buyer's premium and NYS sales tax is added to all items purchased. Late payment will result in a $25 late fee. Storage at our auction facility- $10 per week. Packing materials needed at auction site: 50 cents per box. Packing/handling in preparation for shipping starts at $5 and is dependent on staff time, materials, and size/weight/fragility of item. Transporting items to a shipping facility for professional packaging-$5 to $20 depending on size/distance traveled. -CONTRACT: By bidding with our auction you are entering into a contract with our terms and conditions. You are accepting responsibility to perform your duties as winning bidder, and agreeing that Bontrager Real Estate & Auction Service, its employees, officers, owners, representatives, agents, and consignors will not be held liable for any losses, claims, liabilities, judgments, expenses, fees, or other damages arising from the use of our services, website, auction property, and this site, including property damage, injuries, dispute with another bidder, or breach by bidder of this site. Any liability to a purchaser will not exceed the purchase price actually paid. Failure of bidder to uphold the bidding agreement as described in the Auction Terms can result in suspension of bidding privileges at Bontrager Real Estate & Auction Service. -EXCHANGES/RETURNS: Successful bidders will sign their receipt at the time of merchandise pick up indicating that all items are present and in satisfactory condition. It is the responsibility of the buyer, not the auction company, to ensure that sales tax paperwork is complete, up to date, and on file, -BID RETRACTION: Bids cannot be retracted once the auction begins. -MERCHANDISE PICK UP: Buyers are responsible for making arrangements to pay for and pick up items within the time frames listed for the auction. Any variation, resulting in late pick up or payment will result in additional fees for removal and storage (see "Additional Fees" section). There is no delivery service provided by the auction company, unless otherwise stated in the auction. Bontrager’s Auction Service is not liable for any damage to property left on the auction premises after the auction, whether or not payment has been made. We reserve the right to impose a storage fee of $10 per month for property not picked up within stated deadlines. Merchandise left 1 month after the auction is subject to sale with the proceeds covering storage and auction fees due to the auction company. -SHIPPING: In auctions where shipping is offered, the buyer pays all shipping fees, including any tax or duty associated with shipping outside the USA. -The auction company does not automatically ship every lot. FIREARM PURCHASE REQUIREMENTS: -LOCAL FIREARMS PURCHASERS MUST PASS A FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECK, WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE DURING THE SCHEDULED PICK UP TIMES ON OCT. 1st. - A DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH CURRENT ADDRESS (LONG GUNS & HAND GUNS) AND A PISTOL PERMIT (HAND GUNS). -PURCHASERS MUST PROVE THEY ARE 21 YEARS OR OLDER TO PURCHASE HANDGUNS AND 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO PURCHASE LONG GUNS. -OUT OF STATE BIDDERS MUST HAVE FIREARMS SHIPPED TO THE FEDERAL FIREARMS DEALER OF THEIR CHOICE, WHERE THEY WILL COMPLETE A FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECK. -IT IS ILLEGAL TO PURCHASE A FIREARM FOR SOMEONE ELSE. CREATE YOUR OWN BIDDING ACCOUNT AND DO NOT BID ON FIREARMS FOR ANOTHER PERSON. -DEALERS MUST PRESENT A VALID COPY OF THEIR FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSE IN ORDER TO AVOID SUBMITTING TO A BACKGROUND CHECK. We accept Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. -Any customer who wishes to pay by cash or check must make arrangements with the auctioneer prior to bidding. Buyer's premium is 13% for all payment types (there is no discount). --If you need to adjust your credit card information in your profile, you will need to log on to HiBid.com, click on your name and go to Payment Methods. Scroll down and delete your payment method. Click on "add a payment method" and carefully type in your credit card information. SHIPPING: Bidders must contact the auction company to confirm that we will ship a specific item. We do not automatically ship every lot. Buyers who want shipping will be charged shipping and handling fees. Our handling/packing fees are based on the materials and labor that we supply and are affected by: The time and materials needed; whether transportation is needed to move the item to our packing site; size, weight, value of the item, and the distance it has to travel. We require signature confirmation and insurance on every package. We do not ship to PO Boxes. We do not overnight or expedite package delivery. Firearms will only be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensees (FFL). We do not ship ammunition or taxidermy pieces. Note: Our auction software is used to determine the best shipping price because it allows us to compare prices and provide a discount. If the credit/debit card you have on file with Hibid.com isn't working, we are unable to do that and you'll be charged a higher rate. We are unable to ship extremel fragile/awkward items such as glass lamps and antique clocks- those items will be transported to UPS for a $20 fee and buyer will pay for professional packaging. SHIPPING OF FIREARMS: ANY SUCCESSFUL BIDDER WISHING TO HAVE FIREARMS SHIPPED MUST HAVE THEM SHIPPED TO THE FEDERAL FIREARMS DEALER OF THEIR CHOICE, WHERE THEY WILL COMPLETE A FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECK. If you arrive hours ahead of time, you will wait to be assisted while we help those with current appointments. -There is only one day for removal and the auction crew many not have access to the building later, so please plan accordingly. There is a minimum $20 fee for late pickup and storage regardless of the circumstance. If you are sick, please send someone else to pick up your items.
